"The Ballad of Easy Rider," performed by Roger McGuinn, was the theme song of the 1969 classic film. Later recorded by the Byrds, the song began as a few lines scrawled on a napkin by Bob Dylan and given to the film's stars, Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper. "Give this to McGuinn," Dylan told the pair. "He'll know what to do with it." McGuinn composed the music and finished the lyrics, creating one of the most beloved songs in his catalog.
